Marissa Cisneros Perez has served in the education sector for fifteen years. Throughout her career, she has served as a classroom teacher, K-5 Instructional Coach all contents, K-5 Social Studies Coach, 3-5 Literacy Coach, K-5 Instructional Literacy Coach, Literacy Coordinator, and Adjunct Professor.
Currently, Marissa Cisneros Perez is serving as the K-3 District Literacy Coordinator for Edgewood Independent School District. Mrs. Perez is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of the Incarnate Word.
Her educational background includes an Interdisciplinary Studies degree from the University of the Incarnate Word, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education from UIW, and a Master of Arts in Reading from St. Mary’s University. She is a Certified Reading Specialist and a Certified Master Reading Teacher.
Her professional interests include literacy development, educational leadership, and curriculum development. She has a passion for Children’s Literature and fostering a love of reading in ALL readers.
