Priscilla Delgado, Ph.D.

Priscilla Delgado Hermiller knows books--and has pursued her love of all sorts of literature--from her perspectives as a school librarian and bilingual teacher, as a specialist for TeachingBooks/Overdrive, and as a recent graduate of St. John's Unversity with a Ph.D. in literacy. A native of San Marcos, Texas, she is a Past Chair of the Tejas Star Reading List and Reading List Coordinating Committee for the Texas Library Association and has served on regional and national book award committees.  She's active in various book clubs (G.G.'s Book Club is her favorite!) and loves spreading book joy.  Priscilla is also crazy about Elivs and has a bi-weekly "Spotlight on Elivs" segment on The Mop Tops and the King radio show.

She is a 2004 Rockefeller Brothers Fund Fellowship recipient and a 2007 American Library Association Spectrum Scholar.

Her professional interests include diversity in children's literature, culturally relevant literature and pedagogy, bilingual education, future-ready librarians, educational technology, school librarianship, and digital literacy.
