May is here and it's time for all things fiesta, food, and cha-cha-cha!
It is a month that is filled and jam-packed with countless holidays to look forward to celebrating including Star Wars Day, National Teacher Day, Mother's Day, National Clean Your Room Day (yes, that's right kiddos and teens), Memorial Day, National Apple Pie Day, National Hamburger Day, and so many more!
But a personal favorite holiday for this month is Cinco de Mayo. It's simply another reason to celebrate another day "fiesta-style".
Fiestas and celebrating community and culture is something that is done here in San Antonio pretty much all year long. In fact, San Antonio shows the world how to seriously celebrate and throw a Fiesta like no other!
If you haven't visited San Antonio during Fiesta time, then you definitely need to put Fiesta San Antonio on your bucket list. It is an annual festival that spans over a few weeks and is filled with daily entertainment city-wide. Among some of the major events, you can enjoy fiesta cookouts, oyster bakes, NIOSA, concerts, a 10K run, three major parades, and a boat parade on the San Antonio Riverwalk!
It's true when they say, "Everything is bigger in Texas".
By the time Cinco de Mayo comes around, it just gives us San Antonians another reason to celebrate "fiesta-style".
So for this month, a visual booklist has been curated to highlight the importance of festivity, the celebration of music, honoring the LatinX culture, and the appreciation of authentic food in celebration of Cinco de Mayo! ❤️
I hope this list inspires you to continue to share the love of books with others.
Here's to wishing you a month full of celebration, good music, good food, and great reads!
